The Happy Woman Checklist

What Checklist?

Have you not heard?

There's a group of people (men) going around asking women then find on social media the following questions:

  1. Are you married?

  2. Do you have kids?

  3. Why not?

  4. Are you not happy?

  5. Why don't you want them?

  6. Your boyfriend isn't the one then?

Have you been getting this?

Over on Instagram

Having an online business has many pros, but with that comes the cons. The negative people, the judgemental people, the creepy people and the sleezy ones too.

I've seen them all!

I'm hoping at some point, one of the 'Sugar Daddy's' who message me, will actually turn out to be legit. Hasn't happen yet though.

Until then, I get these men (not ALL men) who feel the need to question my level of happiness based on their own perception of what a woman should have and want.

Even more so at my tender age of 30.

I don't share much about my boyfriend on my business page so they first one is always whether I am single. I mean, God forbid I was happy flying solo. When that's (always) followed with, so are you married, I do get my back up.

Society Tells Us So

However, in the defence of these men, we live in a society that conditions us all to want only 3 things, marriage, a mortgage and kids.

If you try and stray from that line, you WILL raise eyebrows and be forced to face the avalanche of questions from everyone around you.

How could you not want those things right? They are true signs of success and happiness right? WRONG!

Yes, you can want marriage, a mortgage and kids and be happy with that life. However, that is not the only life or the only factors that can bring true happiness.

Ask yourself this, when was the last time you bumped into someone you hadn't seen in ages and asked them the simple question of:

"Are you happy?"

Did you maybe ask:

"So, are you married, got kids?"

I know I still catch myself doing it!

We never just assume that someone could be happy without all those things.

So what am I saying?

  1. If you are male and reading this, STOP asking women on social media the 'happy woman' checklist. It's not interesting, it's irritating.

  2. For everyone, stop questioning your friends, acquaintances or anyone on their life choices just because they don't match up to yours or society's ideal.

  3. Actually ask someone if they are happy! It's a simple thing and happiness looks different to everyone and so does success.

Ladies,
