The Beauty In Staying Still
Coming to you from Parliament Hill, London
Right now I am sat on a hill in London, with the sun shining, blue skies above me and in the company of a friend.
It’s so simple and yet I am smiling from ear to ear.
This small act of staying still and soaking in the small beauties of life, really are the moments that matter.
Logging off
I decided to use this weekend to switch off from social media as much as I can and to fully be present.
Even though I am writing this post, I am still catching myself zoning out and people watching.
I love to watch people who pass me by, catch the random sentences of their conversations and imagine what their life is like.
I find it so calming lying still and just watching the world go by.
Taking my foot of the accelerator
When I’m at home, my life is full on. My days fly by and I feel busy from the minute I wake, until the minute I sleep.
I love my life, I am grateful for what I have and I wouldn’t change too much.
Yet, it’s in these moments that I truly stop and feel into the gratitude for the life I have created. I want to create more time for these small pockets of time, where I can take my foot off the accelerator of life and cruise along.
Is life passing you by?
When do you slow down? Do you have dedicated time to just sit back and watch?
Maybe you have some but want more!
Life is naturally more hectic so it’s even more important to switch off when you can. So I’ll leave you with this journal prompts:
“Where can you start switching off and slowing down?”
Now,
