It's OK To Give It Your All, Even If It's Temporary!
Two promotions in 1 year!
I don't say this to brag but in the past 3 months I have had 2 promotions in my day job!
I took the first role as it came up when I was ready to progress away from my current job. It kept me in a team I enjoyed, loved working with and I already had some knowledge around.
The second one, was the one I wanted but it didn't become available until later in the year. It was with a new team, in a new role and outside my comfort zone. However, I am so damn excited that I went for it and that I got it!
"Always find a reason to celebrate yourself"
Why am I sharing this with you?
This isn't a post about how amazing I am or how well my life is going.
Outside of the day job, I am building an online coaching business where I can create a wonderful audience of women looking to level up and feel empowered in their own life.
I enjoy working 1:1 with women looking to feel more in control of their goals, the action they take and the path they are creating.
My long term goal is to leave behind the 9-5 job and fully support myself through the coaching space and because of this, I have felt guilt around progressing in the day job.
I've felt like a fraud!
I spoke to a coach about it before when we were working together. I shared my feelings of guilt, shame and embarrassment for progressing and staying in my day job. It felt like, if I moved up in that role, it meant I wasn't 100% all in on my coaching business.
How can I level up in business if I focus too much on my job?
You might read this and think it sounds stupid, but I genuinely doubted myself.
I felt like I shouldn't celebrate an achievement there when it wasn't part of my long term plan.
But here's the thing...
It's this inability to celebrate our successes that builds self doubt in ourselves as a person. By ignoring any kind of success, just because it's not the one we want to see, is a sign I lacked self love.
Moving up and doing well in any area of my life does NOT mean I cannot do the same elsewhere.
Levelling up in work doesn't mean I won't EVER level up in business. If anything, it will show me that I am more than capable of making it happen.
My day job supports me, it pays bills and for adventures, it keeps a roof over my head and I have the opportunity to meet and work with incredible people 5 days a week.
Do I want that forever, NO, but will I make the absolute most out of it whilst I have it, YES!
Give it your all!
Be freaking proud of who you are and everything you have achieved, even if you aren't where you want to be just yet.
You will get there and maybe this post will encourage you to reflect and shift focus some what but don't take away from your success.
Learn to celebrate yourself and breath in the moments of achievement because its that feeling which will manifest and attract more of what you want into your life.
When you celebrate yourself fully, and mean it, you put yourself on a vibration that matches more of what you want.
